Jon Dorn, owner of Dorn Construction, has twelve years of experience in custom building and trim. In these twelve years he has experienced a wide variety of buildings ranging from conservative ranch style homes to exquisite, high end homes. Also during this time he has been using unique insulating materials and techniques. For the past six years, Jon has experience building complete homes with Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF’s). Not only basement walls, but all exterior walls were constructed with ICF’s. This gave the structure supreme performance and low energy costs. Jon also was involved with a state funded project using the REMOTE wall system. REMOTE walls have been a marvel at heat retention in Alaska’s Artic climate. This system is a cost effective way to increase the performance of a new or existing structure. Jon also continues to educate himself with new insulating materials and methods to further conserve energy and lower energy costs.
